1. GunSpinning VR is a cowboy vs zombies VR game with 3 modes and 8 levels. The 1st demo of GunSpinning VR was made with the Kinect. Overall, development took me 1,5 year from the starting point all the way down to the 1st release in April 2017.

A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android

Step 1 Launch Wondershare UniConverter and choose VR Converter. Open the software on your Mac after download and installation. Select VR Converter option from the Toolbox section on the main interface. Step 2 Load videos to convert to VR. A new VR Converter window will open up.

There are weird things in town, people have changed, they look different. they look dead, but they are alive! I don't know why but this giant flying disc is probably responsible. It flew over my ranch, and left for the city. I've to follow it.

GunSpinning VR is a rail shooter that takes place in a small city in the wild west. The city is invested by zombies and aliens and you have to clean it up to find the source of the infection.

The Game

The game is optimized for Mixed Reality Immersive Headsets as well as flat screens. You can play using a gamepad or a set of motion controllers. There are three game modes

• Learn the game basics in the ranch by shooting bottles
• Play and complete the game in story mode
• Try and challenge your best score

Setup

The option panel contains a lot of options to tweak the game. Mixed Reality users have to worry about two things : Post Processing and SunShaft. Both effects requires a good GPU, especially the last one !

Trial

A smal trial is available with a full access to the training mode and the very begining of the story mode. It allows you to try the game on your computer.

SideQuest lets you install and run VR games for Oculus Quest that aren't in the Oculus Store. It's a free desktop app for Mac, which developers can use as an unofficial curated VR store.

What is sideloading?

Sideloading is a term used for adding unofficial content to a device using a virtual desktop app. If the Quest headset is in developer mode, it's relatively easy to install extra content. Otherwise, SideQuest does the same thing but makes it more accessible.

SideQuest vs. Quest

The Oculus Quest VR headset is self-contained; once it's charged up, you can access the Quest games store from the device itself, rather than needing to use a Mac. However, Oculus is run by Facebook, which implemented a strict curation policy for games.

Although other game consoles do the same thing, the market for VR titles is a lot narrower, so the policy isn't too popular with many VR developers and gamers. That's where SideQuest comes in. It has a range of games that can be sorted by genre, staff picks, and user ratings.

Is SideQuest legal?

Since it's not officially supported by Facebook, SideQuest is very much a ‘use at your own risk' proposition. However, it's not illegal to sideload games onto a Quest, especially if the game is released for that purpose by its developer.

SideQuest is a safe way to add independent VR games from your Mac to your Oculus Quest. Much like the Xbox Indie Store before it, SideQuest gives developers who likely don't have the industry clout (or finances) to meet Facebook's curation criteria a shot at being seen.

Yes. If you're worried about the legal aspect, don't be too concerned. As long as you're using SideQuest solely for its curated games, you'll be fine.
