Hal Duncan won me over with his brain-bruising Vellum and Ink and then his beautifully crafted short stories in the Wilde Stories 2011: The Year's Best Gay Speculative Fiction anthologies. And although Escape From Hell reads like a big-budget action movie and is a bit different from the other works of Duncan's I've been exposed to I thoroughly enjoyed this story too.
